September 30th, 2009 | Associated Press
U.N. health officials issued a report Wednesday estimating that 4 million people are now receiving AIDS drugs worldwide. This figure represents a 10-fold increase in the number of patients receiving AIDS medicine, due to the focused effort to increase access to AIDS medicine in Africa. The U.N. estimates that there are still 5 million others in need of AIDS medicine.
