Polio on the Rise in Africa: WHO

Polio has reemerged in several African countries where it had once been eradicated, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced Monday. Most resurgences were due, the WHO said, to a lack of childhood immunizations. Approximately 74 percent of African children recieve routine vaccinations, but coverage of at least 85 percent is needed.
