Global Fund grant to boost Zimbabwe health system

The Global Fund will provide Zimbabwe with a $180 million grant to fight HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. In September, Zimbabwe reported that the country’s HIV infection rate had declined to 13.7 percent of youths and adults, from an estimated 14.1 percent in 2008. The health minister called for increased effort to push these rates down to single digits.
